This manual has been updated based on the changes in Version 5.0 as of April 2026.
·The interface has been renewed. The palettes and Command Bar functions that are displayed in the default settings have been changed. For details, see "Interface" or "Tablet interface". See "Command Bar" for details on the Command Bar.
·On tablets, the Studio Mode/Simple Mode switch button has been added to switch between Simple Mode and Studio Mode. For details, see "Switching to Studio Mode" or "Switching to Simple Mode".
·The term Sub Tool has been discontinued and changed to Tool.
·The Sub tool palette has been renamed to the Tool Group palette.
·The terms Add sub tool, Duplicate sub tool, and Delete sub tool in the Tool Group palette have been changed to Add tool, Duplicate tool, and Delete tool.
·The term Add sub tool in the Tool Group palette has been changed to Add from downloads.
·From the Tool Group palette menu, the term Create custom sub tool has been changed to Create custom tool.

· "Pop-up related palettes" has been added to the Tool palette. The Tool Property palette and Color Wheel palette can now be displayed from the Tool palette.
·From the Tool palette menu, the term Add from default has been changed to Add group from default. For details, see "Reset tools to default".
·From the Tool palette menu, the term Tool settings has been changed to Rename tool. For details, see "Change tool name".
·Delete layers has been added to the Layer menu. Empty layers and hidden layers can now be deleted all at once. See "Deleting layers".
·Hide all visible draft layers has been added to the Layer menu. You can now hide all draft layers at once. For details, see "Hiding draft layers".
·Apply layer comps has been added to the Story menu. You can now switch between layer comps on multiple pages. See "Applying a layer comp to multiple pages"
·Color profile has been added to the New dialog. You can now set a color profile preview for the canvas. For details, see "Creating a New Canvas". You can now also set the color profile in the following dialogs: "Canvas Properties", "Change page settings (EX only)", and "Change project settings (EX only)".
·In the image list of the Sub View palette, you can now select multiple images by holding down the Shift key and tapping on images. For details, see "Using the image list".
·Embedded profile has been added to the Color profile preview dialog. You can now display the set color profile in places such as the New dialog. For details, see "Color profile preview".
·The term Profile for preview in the Color profile preview dialog has been changed to Working profile. For details, see "Color profile preview".
·The term Export alpha channel in the "Export settings" dialog has been changed to Export transparency.
·The term Clear Memory in the Edit menu has been changed to Clear work history. By selecting History, you can delete the operation history in the History palette as before. For details, see "Delete all edit history". By selecting Canvas work time, you can reset the work time in the Information palette. For details, see "Resetting the Information palette".
·Tool materials downloaded from Clip Studio Assets are now stored in the Downloads tool. For details, see "Adding brushes from Clip Studio ASSETS".
·Velocity settings have been added to the Dynamics screen. For details, see "Brush dynamics".
·The color icon designs for "The Tool palette", "Color Wheel palette", and "Color Slider palette" have changed.
·A rotation handle has been added when executing a command from the Edit menu > Transform. The handle design has also changed. For details, see "Transforming Images".
·Color correction commands from the Edit menu can now be applied to multiple layers. For details, see "Tonal Correction from the Edit menu".
·Mode and Emphasize exterior outline have been added to the Convert to lines and tones dialog when a 3D layer is selected. For details, see "Convert to lines and tones (EX only)".
· "Smart Shape" has been added. By long pressing with a pen, you can now draw clean lines, curves, and shapes without changing your pen or brush while you draw.
·In the Batch export dialog, the term Name has been changed to File prefix. For details, see "Batch export".
·Export layer comps and Layer comp have been added to the Batch export dialog. You can now select a layer comp when you export. For details, see "Batch export".
·You can now set a color profile when exporting a PDF. For details, see "Export settings".
·You can now tap and select track labels on the Timeline palette. You can also select multiple track labels by dragging over them. For details, see "Select a track label".
·You can now edit a track label by opening the context menu from the track label in the Timeline palette. For details, see "Modify a track label".
·You can now move multiple track labels at once on the Timeline palette. For details, see "Move a track label".
·You can now delete multiple track labels at once on the Timeline palette. For details, see "Delete a track label".
·In the dialog for exporting an animated GIF, the term Export alpha channel has been changed to Export transparency. For details, see "Animated GIF".

·When a material that was downloaded from Clip Studio Assets is selected in the Material palette, the Clip Studio icon will be displayed in the material thumbnail. Tapping this thumbnail will launch Clip Studio and display the material information. Also, the icon will no longer display in the Clip Studio Assets downloaded material list. For details, see "Material palette".
·Frequency has been added to thumbnail sorting in the material lists of the Material palette. For details, see "Organizing materials".
·Recently used materials has been added to the Material palette tree display. You can now select materials from materials you have used in the past.
· "Auto install materials" has been added to the Material palette menu. Setting this will register materials to palettes and dialogs when it is downloaded from Clip Studio Assets.
·Photorealistic textures from metals and plastics can now be expressed when loading 3D files that support PBR, such as gITF and VRM. For details, see "Importing 3D Files".
·When duplicating a 3D material, you can now duplicate 3D materials that are set in a parent-child relationship and in groups. For details, see "Duplicating a 3D material".
·Face parts, Facial expression, Hair style, Body, and Accessories of 3D character materials will now only appear in the "Object Launcher" and the Advanced Tool Settings palette > "Character" if they are available for that model.
·Materials, Layout, and Movable parts of 3D object materials will now only appear in the "Object Launcher" and the Advanced Tool Settings palette > "Object" if they are available for that model.
·Group has been added to the Advanced Tool Settings palette > "Object List" category. You can now move, display, and hide multiple 3D materials at once. For details, see "Grouping 3D models".
·Fog height has been added to Fog type. You can now add fog horizontally based on altitude. For details, see "Fog".
·You can now draw on 3D object materials. For details, see "Painting on 3D materials".
·3D hand models have been added. You can set the hand shape, pose, and more. For how to use the 3D hand model, see "3D Hand Models". You can use the 3D hand model with a 3D drawing figure. For details, see "Attaching 3D hand models to a 3D drawing figure".
·You can now replace a 3D drawing figure on the canvas with a 3D character material or other 3D drawing figure while keeping the pose. For details, see "Swapping 3D drawing figures and 3D character materials".
·Show stroke preview to reduce brush lag has been added to Preferences > "Tools". This will display predicted strokes and cursor when drawing. You can set the Display settings of the stroke preview as well.
·Smart Shape has been added to Preferences > "Tools". You can configure settings related to "Smart Shape".
·View settings has been added to Preferences > "Interface". You can configure the view settings when using a tablet such as the Studio Mode/Simple Mode switch button and icon explanations.
·Link clip operations with track labels has been added to Preferences > "Animation". When you move a clip, the track labels within the clip's range will move with it.
·Enable canvas recovery and Save interval for recovery info have been integrated into Save recovery data every (x) minutes in Preferences > "File". You can configure settings related to saving and restoration on Windows and macOS.
·Save at regular intervals and Save interval have been integrated into Save recovery data every (x) minutes in Preferences > "File". You can configure settings related to saving and restoration on tablets.
·Save recovery data for every operation has been added to Preferences > "File".
·Enable wide color gamut has been added to Preferences > "Color conversion". On tablets that support a wide color gamut, you can adjust the settings to display colors more accurately.
·The term Edit text in Preferences has been changed to "Story editor (EX only)".
·Hand model for pose materials has been added to Preferences > "3D". You can set which 3D hand model appears when you load pose materials.
·Texture import settings has been added to Preferences > "3D". You can select how you want to import 3D files with photorealistic textures.
·Options when a 3D hand model is selected have been added to Advanced Tool Settings > "Adjust parts". For how to operate this, see "Adjusting individual parts of the 3D hand".
·Speed and Quality has been added to Advanced Tool Settings > "Anti-aliasing". You can set the quality and speed when drawing with a brush.
·The "Hand model" category has been added to Advanced Tool Settings. For how to operate this, see "Combining hand shapes".
·Blending quality has been added to Advanced Tool Settings > "Ink". You can set the blending when Running color is set for Color mixing.
·Batch export textures has been added to Advanced Tool Settings > "Object". You can now export 3D object material textures in PNG.
·Shape and Reset have been added to Advanced Tool Settings > "Object". These will display when a 3D object with a set shape key is selected.
·Hand model settings have been added to the Advanced Tool Settings > "Pose" category. You can now set a pose when a 3D hand model is selected.
·Rotate bounding box has been added to Advanced Tool Settings > "Transformation settings" when executing a Transform command from the Edit menu. You can adjust the angle of the bounding box (orange).
